GUANAJUATO.- El Festival Internacional Cervantino se llevará a cabo del 11 al 27 de octubre en Guanajuato, que celebra su edición 52 con Oaxaca y Brasil como invitados de honor.
La inauguración se realizó en la explanada de la Alhóndiga de Granaditas, un lugar emblemático en la historia de México. El espectáculo inaugural sería La Guelaguetza, una celebración de las tradiciones indígenas oaxaqueñas.
Participan más de 2,000 artistas provenientes de más de 30 países, ofreciendo una rica variedad de espectáculos que incluyen música, danza, teatro y artes visuales. La programación incluye:
– 117 grupos artísticos: 70 nacionales y 47 internacionales.
– 116 espectáculos y 133 funciones repartidas en varios escenarios.

Después de estar interesado algunos años en crear un ballet sobre Copelia, personaje conocido también como La chica de los ojos esmaltados, Jean-Christophe Maillot terminó en 2019 su versión de esta obra clásica. En concordancia con los tiempos de innovación tecnológica que atravesamos, el ganador del prestigioso premio Benois de la Danza en 2008 se decidió a actualizar la narración para convertirla en una historia de dos novios cuyo amor se verá desafiado por la aparición de un robot con inteligencia artificial.
Hace cuarenta años que Maillot crea ballets, en ese tiempo nunca ha dejado de maravillarse con los cuerpos de los bailarines, por su estética, y es con esa alegría constantemente renovada, que se expresa a través de ellos para contar la historia de Coppél-I.
