CDMX.- Alma Maldonado, investigadora del Departamento de Investigaciones Educativas, del Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del IPN, advirtió que “el futuro de la niñez de México está en riesgo”, derivado de que los nuevos libros de texto gratuitos fueron modificados sin consultar a la comunidad académica y pedagógica, y están plagados de errores, no tienen una secuencia pedagógica, sino muchas ocurrencias.
En vísperas del nuevo ciclo escolar 2023-2024, la especialista dijo que el contenido de los libros debe ser evaluado y revisado por expertos. Para ello, puso una iniciativa en Change.org para que se detenga la distribución de estos libros y se usen los anteriores mientras se resuelven los temas legales, y —sobre todo— mientras el contenido no pase por una revisión de expertos en las didácticas y disciplinas correspondientes, así como de grupos docentes con experiencia en el aula y de diseñadores profesionales.

Entre las razones que la especialista planteó para no distribuir esos libros entre la niñez se encuentra:
Primero, en este nuevo esquema los niños no tienen libros para español, matemáticas, ciencias naturales, geografía, biología, salud, historia universal y de México. No aprenderán el razonamiento lógico de las matemáticas, no profundizarán sus conocimientos del español, ni tendrán libros de lecturas. Supuestamente los niños ahora aprenderán haciendo proyectos que los maestros escogerán de los nuevos libros.
Segundo, la pérdida educativa es especialmente crítica en la secundaria. Antes, para cada materia los maestros podían escoger de entre diez a 16 títulos de libros aprobados por la SEP y suministrados por editoriales de la Cámara Nacional de la Industria Editorial Mexicana (CANIEM). Ahora desaparecen todos esos libros y reducen la secundaria a un esquema similar a la primaria, sin libros de materias y sólo con dos libros de referencia y de cápsulas educativas sin ningún orden ni secuencia.
Tercero, por si todo esto fuera poco, los nuevos libros que hemos podido revisar están plagados de errores. Es evidente que sus autores se niegan a presentarlos oficialmente para evitar que sean evaluados por expertos, ya que desean imponerlos en este nuevo año escolar. A pesar de eso, existen versiones electrónicas e impresas que se han filtrado a los medios y permiten ver sus grandes deficiencias.
Cuarto, la desaparición de los libros de las materias que han sido parte esencial de la experiencia educativa en primaria y secundaria va a impedir que la niñez pueda aprender de manera sistemática. Con ellos podían reafirmar en el aula y en casa lo aprendido. Un año perdido en aprendizaje, aunado a los problemas que derivaron del cierre de las escuelas en la pandemia va a tener efectos cognitivos quizás irreversibles. Trabajar con «proyectos sociocríticos interdisciplinarios» podría ser factible si existieran recursos adecuados y capacitación docente. De hecho, este tipo de proyectos ya se usan en los salones de clase, pero de ninguna manera sustituyen la enseñanza de las disciplinas porque no todos los temas pueden ser profundizados y ejercitados a través de proyectos.
«Nuevamente se va a responsabilizar al personal docente de implementar ocurrencias sin el apoyo y tiempo suficientes. ¿Cuál es la prisa? Los resultados que podemos esperar de este atropellado proceso es que la niñez y juventud reciban una educación pública deficiente, sin las herramientas que requerirán para enfrentar el futuro. Esto hará que las brechas de desigualdad existentes se agranden, cuando el proyecto de mayor prioridad de este gobierno debería ser una educación de calidad en todas las escuelas públicas del país», agregó Alma Maldonado.
