Ciudad de México.- La Secretaría del Medio Ambiente (SEDEMA) capitalina anunció la primer Jornada Ambiental de Tutores Responsables de Animales de Compañía “Por el Cuidado de Cerro de la Estrella”, el próximo 21 de enero de 2023.
El objetivo de la jornada ambiental es concientizar a las comunidades sobre el grave problema de abandono de los perros en las Áreas Naturales Protegidas y que, a su vez, provoca que las especies silvestres que habitan esta zona se vean desplazadas.
El punto de encuentro será el sábado 21 de enero, en un horario de 09:00 a 12: 00 horas, en el sitio conocido como El Campamento, espacio que forma parte de las recientes rehabilitaciones socioambientales del Área Natural Protegida Cerro de la Estrella, realizadas por el Gobierno de la Ciudad de México en la Alcaldía Iztapalapa.
Se llevarán a cabo actividades y servicios gratuitos de esterilización y vacunación antirrábica para perros y gatos, así como una serie de charlas en las que los asistentes podrán responder sus dudas e inquietudes para el cuidado de sus animales de compañía, además de las especies silvestres que habitan las Áreas Naturales Protegidas.
Los vecinos podrán acceder al Registro Único de Animales de Compañía (RUAC), y también se podrá disfrutar de la obra de teatro guiñol presentada por PAOT: “Rosendo, un perro en apuros”.
Las personas interesadas pueden enviar un correo a anp.cerrodelaestrella@gmail.com para recibir información sobre los requisitos para llevar a cabo la esterilización de los animales de compañía.
El Cerro de la Estrella cuenta con un registro de 68 especies de vertebrados terrestres, distribuidas en dos especies de anfibios, cinco de reptiles, 16 de mamíferos y 45 de aves.
A partir de 2021, el lugar conocido como El Campamento fue habilitado como punto de encuentro para la realización de actividades de educación ambiental, con el propósito de dar a conocer la importancia de conservar las Áreas Naturales Protegidas de la Ciudad de México.
