CIUDAD DE MÉXICO.— El Sistema de Transporte Colectivo (STC) Metro, a través de su Gerencia de Seguridad Institucional (GSI) y en coordinación con la Policía Bancaria e Industrial (PBI), activó cuatro centros de monitoreo de vigilancia de estaciones, con el objetivo de fortalecer la seguridad de usuarios y trabajadores dentro de las instalaciones.

A través de un comunicado, el STC Metro indicó que el Puesto Central de Monitoreo es parte medular de la seguridad en las instalaciones, pues observa, detecta, notifica y previene la comisión de delitos a través de sus cámaras de videovigilancia y de sus frecuencias de radio comunicación.
Detalló que los centros de monitoreo están equipados con unidades de cómputo enlazadas a las cámaras de vigilancia de las estaciones. Éstas, a su vez, tienen comunicación directa con la Gerencia de Seguridad Institucional del Metro, lo que permitirá reportar y atender cualquier incidente de seguridad en tiempo real.
Cabe destacar que el Puesto Central de Monitoreo, es parte medular de la Seguridad en el Metro CDMX, pues observa, detecta, notifica y previene la comisión de delitos, a través de sus cámaras de videovigilancia y de sus frecuencias de radio comunicación.

Los Centros de Monitoreo, los cuales son operados por efectivos de la PBI, se encuentran ubicados en las estaciones:
- Pantitlán, de la Línea 1;
- Hidalgo, en la Línea 2;
- La Raza, de la Línea 3; y
- Constitución de 1917, de la Línea 8.
El SCT Metro resaltó que en los próximos días se sumará a la activación el conjunto Pino Suárez, el cual se encuentra en el proceso final de su remodelación y equipamiento.
Estos Centros de Monitoreo están ubicados en las estaciones Pantitlán, Hidalgo, La Raza y en Constitución de 1917, y son operados por efectivos de la PBI, adscritos al Metro. Destacó que, en conjunto con la SSC, “planea e implementa estrategias encaminadas a inhibir la incidencia delictiva, con lo cual se ha registrado una disminución del 73 por ciento en los casos de robo al interior de las instalaciones del Metro, fortaleciendo la seguridad de las personas usuarias”.
