CIUDAD DE MÉXICO.- Este 25 de mayo es el Día del Orgullo Friki o también conocido como el Día del Orgullo Geek. Esta conmemoración tiene como objetivo cambiar la percepción que se tiene sobre las personas ‘frikis’.
Anteriormente este nombre hacía referencia a personas que tenían algún defecto físico, sin embargo con el paso del tiempo se fue adaptando este adjetivo a quienes gustaban de videojuegos, comics, películas, entre otros.
El origen de esta celebración se remonta al año 2006. El bloguero español Germán Martínez, más conocido como Señor Buebo, llevó a cabo una serie de eventos en diferentes puntos España para que las personas frikis se conocieran.
A partir de esa fecha, este día se celebra en diferentes países, el cual reúne a miles de personas que se identifican con este movimiento y que ya forma parte de cultura mundial.
Además de esto, la fecha coincide también con la celebración del lanzamiento en el año 1977 de la película La Guerra de las Galaxias.
En 2008 el Día del Orgullo Friki se hizo oficial en Estados Unidos. Miles de personas participaron en un gran desfile que recorrió la Quinta Avenida de Nueva York.
A través de redes sociales, las personas que se identifican como frikis demostraron su alegría por formar parte de esta comunidad.
