CIUDAD DE MÉXICO.- Little Richard, pionero del Rock and Roll, murió este sábado a los 87 años a causa del cáncer que padecía.
El día de hoy la revista Rolling Stone confirmó el fallecimiento del músico Little Richard, uno de los grandes nombres en la escena de la época dorada del R&R. Sencillos como Long Tall Sally, Tutti Frutti, Lucille y Good Golly Miss Molly lo catapultaron a la fama a mediados de los 50.

Richard nació el 5 de diciembre de 1932 en el seno de una familia pobre en Macon, Georgia, en el sur de Estados Unidos. Un cantante de gospel descubrió su talento para el canto en 1947, y poco después comenzó su carrera profesional.
Cuando abrió el Salón de la Fama del Rock and Roll en 1986, estuvo entre los miembros fundadores junto con Elvis Presley, Berry, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Sam Cooke entre otros.
Richard influyó en algunos intérpretes cuya fama acabaría superando a la suya, como a The Beatles y David Bowie, Mick Jagger, James Brown y Rod Stewart.
