CIUDAD DE MÉXICO.— La seguridad es fundamental para cualquier país, porque sin ésta no puede haber ni prosperidad ni crecimiento económico, afirmó el embajador de Estados Unidos en México, Christopher Landau.
Al término de su reunión con integrantes del Consejo Coordinador Empresarial (CCE), el diplomático estadounidense explicó que existe diálogo con el gobierno mexicano para lavado de dinero, tráfico de drogas y de armas, entre otros temas, pero insistió en que la Unión Americana también busca conocer la percepción del sector privado.
“El tema de seguridad es, obviamente, fundamental; porque sin seguridad no puede haber crecimiento económico o prosperidad, así que hablamos yo creo que vamos a tratar de establecer un diálogo continuo sobre materias de seguridad entre la embajada y el sector privado mexicano porque ellos tienen muy buenas ideas, ideas interesantes”, afirmó.

Christopher Landau indicó que en la reunió con la cúpula empresarial también se habló sobre los avances del Tratado entre México, Estados Unidos y Canadá (T-MEC) y la posibilidad de establecer mecanismos para mantener un diálogo continuo con los empresarios.
“El sector privado mexicano jugó un papel muy importante en la negociación del tratado y espero que sigan jugando ese rol en la implementación del tratado, ojalá cualquier disputa que surja, podamos contar con la cooperación del sector privado mexicano para que no llegue a un formal de arbitraje“, añadió.
Señaló que como embajador es muy importante contar con una relación con todos los sectores de la vida nacional de México, “el sector empresarial es muy importante, el intercambio de ideas entre el sector empresarial y Estados Unidos”.
