REINO UNIDO.- Una de las bandas más importantes de la música a nivel mundial es Queen, La agrupación que fuera liderada por Freddie Mercury ha conseguido lo que ningún otro artista en el Reino Unido: poner su icónico logo en la nueva moneda de 5 libras esterlinas.
La Royal Mint (La Real Casa de Moneda de Gran Bretaña) puso el iconico logo de Queen en la nueva moneda de 5 libras, siendo los primeros artistas en conseguir este honor y de formar parte de la colección Music Legends.
#Queen se acaba de convertir en la primera banda en ser honrada por la casa de la moneda de Reino Unido. La moneda de £5 entrará en circulación el próximo 24 de Enero en UK, y los coleccionistas ya pueden adquirir el modelo en oro a £2.100 (unos 2.700 dólares aproximadamente).

Además de mostrar el nombre de la banda, la moneda también cuenta con el piano y el micrófono de Freddie, la Red Special de Brian May así como el Precision Bass de John Deacon y el kit de batería de Roger Taylor.
El guitarrista de Queen, Brian May dijo que este era uno de los más grandes honores que han recibido:
“Este es un gran momento nivel ‘¿Quién se lo hubiera imaginado?’ Cuando comenzamos con Queen, incluso lo más remoto al primer escalón de lo que fuese el reconocimiento, era algo inalcanzable. Que nuestra banda sea reconocida y nuestra música celebrada de esta manera es muy emocionante, un verdadero honor”.
No solo estarán en circulación en el Reino Unido, pues la Royal Mint también puso a la venta a través de su sitio web ediciones especiales con las portadas de algunos discos de la banda. Las monedas de Queen van de las 13 a las 2020 libras esterlinas (de los 317 a los 50 mil pesos mexicanos) dependiendo de la edición.
