CIUDAD DE MÉXICO.- Variety informa que los cocreadores de ‘Game of Thrones’, David Benioff y D.B. Weiss, han firmando con Warner Bros para producir un filme de terror cósmico sin título basado en la novela gráfica ‘Lovecraft‘.
Al parecer el proyecto se encuentra en una etapa muy temprana de producción, pero ya sería un hecho que David Benioff y D.B. Weiss cerraron un acuerdo con Warner Bros para realizar la adaptación.
No se conocen mayores detalles de la producción, únicamente se sabe que no estaría basada directamente en las obras del mítico autor, sino en la novela gráfica Lovecraft, de Hans Rodionoff. Phil Hay y Matt Manfredi.
De acuerdo con Deadline, la historia se ubicará en 1920 y comprenderá los Mitos de Cthulhu, en donde seres monstruosos se esconden en los parajes más oscuros de la Tierra. Benioff y Weiss están explorando la pregunta: ¿Qué pasaría si HP Lovecraft no lo hubiera inventado y los monstruos que creó son reales?
El guion correrá a cargo de Matt Manfredi y Phil Hay, quienes anteriormente trabajaron en Aeon Flux, mientras que Karyn Kusama será productora ejecutiva. De momento se desconocen las fechas del rodaje o estreno, aunque se dice que la película se ha discutido durante años con Warner Bros, incluso cuando el dúo estaba trabajando en la serie de HBO.
