QUINTANA ROO, 22 de octubre (AlMomentoMX).- Ayer por la tarde el secretario de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT), Javier Jiménez Espriú, anunció la ampliación del aeropuerto de Chetumal con una inversión de 150 millones de pesos.
Actualmente la demarcación ocupa los últimos lugares a nivel nacional en cuanto a la movilización de pasajeros, con un aproximado de 251 mil 788 visitantes durante los primeros ocho meses del 2019.
El funcionario explicó que se trabaja en conjunto con la Secretaría de Turismo (Sectur) para ampliar una de las cinco posiciones para aviones en dicha terminal aérea.
Con lo anterior se espera que la ampliación permita incrementar su capacidad de operación de vuelos diarios.
Asimismo, el ingeniero destacó que para las remodelaciones pensadas se ha destinado una inversión de 150 millones de pesos para mejorar la imagen y el turismo de la capital.
La SCT contempla la ampliación del edificio terminal, la construcción de una nueva torre de control, a fin de que el aeropuerto cuente con 2 mil 485 metros cuadrados adicionales para dar servicios a unos 600 pasajeros en las “horas pico”.
