CIUDAD DE MÉXICO 24 de julio (Almomento.MX).- Ricardo Monreal, presidente de la Junta de Coordinación Política (JUCOPO) de la Cámara alta, declaró a El Financiero que el Senado, junto con asesores del Banco de México (BANXICO) y las secretarías de Hacienda y Economía, exploran la posibilidad de dar un mandato dual al banco central, para que además de controlar la inflación impulse el crecimiento económico y la generación de empleos.
El coordinador de Morena en el Senado, aseguró que ha tenido reuniones con funcionarios del banco estatal y de diversas dependencias federales para revisar los pros y contras de expandir el poder del Banco de México.
“Estamos conversando con asesores de Banco de México, Hacienda y Economía, pero no hay aún nada concreto”, dijo Monreal a El Financiero.
A pesar que el actual gobierno ha asegurado que respetará la autonomía del Banco de México el Presidente López Obrador ha reiterado su deseo que esta institución también impulse el crecimiento económico
Hasta ahora el mandato constitucional del BANXICO es procurar en el país la estabilidad del poder adquisitivo de la moneda nacional, tarea que se logra con la estabilidad de precios, por medio del control de la inflación.
