A partir del 26 de junio y hasta el 28 de julio realizaremos el “Mes de las Mariposas Monarca” , en donde se dará la oportunidad de convivir con cientos de mariposas Monarca , conocer su ciclo de vida, su migración e hibernación a través de visitas Guiadas, exposiciones y charlas.
En conferencia de prensa, Jorge Rickards, Director General de WWF México , destacó la presencia de polinizadores —como las abejas y las mariposas— es crucial , no solo para la diversidad de plantas y animales, sino también para los cultivos como el nopal, amaranto , frutas y plantas de ornato.
Urgió a revertir la curva de pérdida de la biodiversidad debido a, entre otros factores, al cambio climático. “La pérdida de las especies es un gran daño para la humanidad, y más de los polonizadores, los que se utilizan en muchos ámbitos”, apuntó.
Jorge Rickards, director general de WWF México, habló sobre el papel de la Mariposa Monarca como polinizador, esencial para mantener la diversidad de plantas, cultivos y animales.

Sin embargo, se dice que “ la mariposa monarca está en la lista roja de especies en riesgo, y una de las especies prioritarias de conservación ”.
