CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, 2 de noviembre (AlMomentoMX).- Durante su último evento, Apple agregó al iPhone 5 a su lista de “productos vintage y obsoletos”. El teléfono fue lanzado oficialmente el 21 de septiembre de 2012.
Junto al Apple III, el Newton MessagePad y las primeras cuatro generaciones del teléfono inteligente de la compañía de Cupertino, el iPhone 5 está oficialmente muerto, por lo que la compañía dejará de ofrecer servicio, soporte y reparaciones a dichos dispositivos.
Sin embargo, este anuncio no debería sorprendernos. Apple define “como productos vintage o antiguos” a aquellos que no han sido fabricados por cinco a siete años. La compañía dejó de fabricar el iPhone 5 en 2013, justo después de anunciar el iPhone 5C.
Si tienes un iPhone 5 y sigue funcionando puedes seguir utilizándolo e instalarle aplicaciones compatibles a su sistema operativo. Pero en el caso de una descompostura o falla, la marca no podrá brindarte servicio ni mantenimiento.
Apple seguirá ofreciendo mantenimiento al iPhone 5C, 5S y SE, que no fueron añadidos aún a la lista, pero se prevé que sean incluidos muy pronto.
El último evento de Apple fue hace una semana, ahí se anunció el lanzamiento de la nueva iPad Pro y de la última generación de MacBook Air, la cual estará hecha de material reciclable.
