TOLUCA, ESTADO DE MÉXICO, 7 de marzo (AlmomentoMX).- Con proyectos y acciones de ingeniería que emprenden todos los niveles de gobierno, junto con la iniciativa privada, es factible reducir considerablemente el déficit de agua potable que hoy enfrentan 10.6 millones de personas que viven en la Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México.
Así lo señaló José Manuel Camacho Salmón, Vocal Ejecutivo de la Comisión del Agua del Estado de México (CAEM), durante su participación en el 29° Congreso Nacional de Ingeniería Civil México 2018.
Camacho Salmón expuso un diagnóstico de la situación que viven los habitantes que se concentra en la Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México, cuya demanda de agua se incrementa junto con el crecimiento poblacional.
Indicó que ante esta situación se requiere de nuevos proyectos que permitan dar flexibilidad, sustentabilidad y un mejor aprovechamiento en el manejo y entrega del vital líquido a la población.
Durante su participación en la mesa: ¿Tiene solución la problemática del agua en el Valle de México? el funcionario enfatizó la gran responsabilidad que comparten las diferentes instancias de gobierno, para realizar proyectos que optimicen el aprovechamiento de las fuentes de agua disponibles.
Esto porque la región hidrológica donde se encuentra el Estado de México depende de las precipitaciones que se presenten en la cuenca, para el llenado de los cuerpos receptores de agua.
Añadió que los Organismos Operadores prestadores de este servicio en los municipios, deberán contar con personal capacitado, impulsar el tema de cobranza por el servicio e incrementar la micro medición, lo cual se traducirá en mejoras en la infraestructura hidráulica en la entidad.
La mesa de trabajo estuvo coordinada por el Director General del Sistema de Aguas de la Ciudad de México, Ramón Aguirre Díaz, y participaron Fernando González Cánez, Coordinador General de Proyectos Especiales de Abastecimiento y Saneamiento de la Comisión Nacional del Agua (CONAGUA), Marisa Mazari Hiriart del Instituto de Ecología de la UNAM.
Así como Manuel Perló Cohem, del Instituto de Investigaciones Sociales de la UNAM, Sergio Puente y Aguilar, Profesor-Investigador del Centro de Estudios Urbanos y Ambientales de El Colegio de México, AC.
