CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, 22 de enero.- 2017 fue un año muy productivo para la producción agropecuaria y pesquera en México, pues de acuerdo a las estimaciones de la Secretaría de Agricultura, Ganadería, Desarrollo Rural, Pesca y Alimentación (SAGARPA) el crecimiento de este sector fue de más de 2.6 toneladas de alimentos.
De acuerdo con los datos registrados por el Servicio de Información Agroalimentaria y Pesquera (SIAP), esto significa un incremento del 1.2 % comparado con el año anterior que tuvo un registro de 221 millones 354 mil 820 toneladas de alimentos, y en 2017 la expectativa fue de 224.7 millones de toneladas.
Estas expectativas de producción incluyen los 64 cultivos de seguimiento mensual que contribuyen con el 94 % del valor de la producción nacional.
En el sector agrícola se espera un incremento de dos millones de toneladas; en el sector pecuario 506 mil toneladas y, en el ramo acuícola y pesquero 138 mil toneladas.
Respecto a la balanza comercial agroalimentaria, el SIAP registró durante enero-octubre un superávit de cuatro mil 463 millones de dólares, cifras que no se tenían desde hace más de 20 años.
En este mismo período pero en la balanza de bienes agrícolas se registró un superávit de tres mil 296 millones de dólares, resultado de exportaciones que significaron un 39.4 % más que las importaciones; pues éstas incrementaron 9.7 % comparado con las realizadas en 2016, mientras que las importaciones 5.9 %.
La balanza de bienes agroindustriales, en el periodo enero-octubre/2017, registraron un superávit de mil 575 millones de dólares, periodo en el que las exportaciones fueron 12.7 % mayores a las importaciones; como resultado del incremento de las exportaciones en 18.2 por ciento respecto del mismo periodo de 2016.
En la balanza de bienes pesqueros al mes de octubre de 2017, se presentó un superávit de 119 millones de dólares debido a que lo exportado es 20.7 % mayor respecto de lo importado, mientras que en el sector pecuario el déficit fue de 527 millones de dólares en el mismo lapso.
La SAGARPA reconoció que este incrementó se logró gracias al trabajo de productores así como a las políticas implementadas por esta dependencia.
